I am completely frustrated by the poor, compliant media reporting of what are significant happenings at all levels of government and in the corporate world. We are fed only spin, rendered by lazy and/or scared correspondents.
Writing to newspapers is slow and hit-or-miss. I want to get some of my views spread around, hopefully getting around some of the guff and exposing it for the misleading, platitudinous clap-trap that it is. It is to be a one-way process - I am not seeking dialogue or debate. My pithy situation reports will be what I believe is important to consider when absorbing the spin reports.
Now in retirement, I can call on 50 years of significant experience in many government positions in operational and policy-making areas, as well as in diverse industry sectors. I have seen most of the tricks and artifices used in the current privatisation "debates". And, modestly, I seem to be able to foresee the evolving implications of policies and strategies - I will concentrate on this aspect in my regular (but not necessarily frequent) updates.
In the broader world, my strongest concern is for the US policies - I just don't want us to bumble unthinkingly into a world conceived by neo-cons. My small contribution will be to fight hypocrisy particularly in this context and anywhere else I can.
